WITH THE PROPER SUPPORT THE POSSIBILITIES OF WHAT WE CAN ACHIEVE ARE ENDLESS.

AMY PURDY

Unlocking Possibility Through Mobility

Our mission is to enhance the quality of life, freedom, and mobility for individuals with physical disabilities.

After a successful athletic career as a Paralympian, in 2019, I endured a severe injury that knocked me off my feet, which resulted in a loss of mobility and independence. I struggled to find the right mobility equipment to move around the world freely. When I finally did, I understood just how important the power of mobility is. It enhances quality of life and independence and impacts how we contribute to the world.

I also understand the significant financial burden faced by individuals with physical disabilities when trying to acquire the proper mobility equipment both in and out of sports. The AP Fund’s mission is to alleviate the financial strain associated with physical disabilities by providing financial assistance for mobility equipment, including scooters, wheelchairs, prosthetic devices, and other innovative solutions so people with disabilities can live more active lives.

The AP Fund is a program of Adaptive Action Sports that supports athletes with disabilities by providing funding and support to achieve their athletic goals. By supporting The AP Fund, you contribute to creating a society less limited by financial constraints.

I’ve been able to achieve all that I have because of the immense amount of support I have received along the way. My goal is to pay it forward and help others live their best life through the power of sport & mobility.

THE AP FUND SUPPORTS INDIVIDUALS WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES IN 2 WAYS:

Mobility Equipment Grants

For people with disabilities in need of mobility devices to promote movement, independence and quality of life

Amy understands the significance mobility has on a persons quality of life. When you are mobile you are free to function independently, work and contribute to the world. Mobility and the freedom to move builds self-confidence, independence, and a positive quality of life.

Adaptive Athlete Grants

Financial assistance for disabled athletes, particularly in adaptive snowboarding

It’s financially challenging to be an athlete; it’s even more expensive to be a disabled athlete. Amy continues to share her passion for snowboarding by supporting individuals with physical disabilities to secure the funding they need to participate in Adaptive Snowboarding.
