Zach Miller of Adaptive Action Sports and the U.S. Para Snowboard team has won an ESPY for the “Best Athlete with a Disability” at the 2023 ESPY Awards on Wednesday, July 12, in Los Angeles, California.

Miller’s performance over the last several years was a major reason why he was nominated and ultimately won the award.

Over the last five years, Miller racked up five medals at the World Championship-level. He also attended his first Paralympic Winter Games in 2022. This past winter at the 2023 World Championships, Miller brought home three medals in three different disciplines including a gold medal in the team banked slalom competition.

Beyond his performances on the slopes, Miller has also has served as a leader for Summit County’s Adaptive Action Sports and the U.S. Para Snowboard team.

Miller was not the only Colorado winter sports athlete to win an award at this year’s ESPYS as Edward’s Mikaela Shiffrin won the “Best Athlete in Women’s Sports” award.
